FACILITIES

The facilities in the campus include Volley Ball and Basket Ball courts and Indoor games like Carroms, Chess and Table Tennis. As the ground for playing outdoor games is limited, the institution hires Osmania University and YMCA grounds for professional coaching and for holding competition.

Osmania University Inter Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament For Men 2016-17 Acadamic Year.

INAUGURATION:

The Osmania University Inter College Table Tennis Tournament for Men 2016- 17 was organized and conducted by Dr. K. Sridhar Reddy Organizing Secretary at St. Joseph’s Degree & P.G. college on 6th December 2016. The program started with the presidential address of Rev. Fr. Vincent Arokiadas, Principal, St. Joseph’s Degree & P.G. College. The Chief Guest, Prof. Rajesh kumar, Secretary, Inter University Tournaments, Department of Physical Education, Osmania University, emphasized on the importance of being fit in life. The Guest of Honor, Dr. R. Deepla, Secretary, Inter College Tournaments, Department of Physical Education, Osmania University, spoke about the importance of sports in our daily life.

Rev. Fr. Vincent Arokia Das, Principal, Chief Guest Prof. V. Satyanarayana, Head Dept. of Physical Education, OU, Guest of Honor Dr.R.Deepla, Secretary, ICT-OU, and Organizing Secretary Dr. K. Sridhar Reddy, Physical Director, St. Joseph’s College, distributed the prizes to the winners. Winners: St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College, Runners: A.V. College, Third Place: Badruka College of Commerce & Arts and Fourth.

International Day of Yoga Celebrations

A Report On International Day Of Yoga On 21-06-2015

International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21-06-2015 by NSS OU at Tagore Auditorium Osmania University Campus from 7 am to 11am, Registrar Osmania University Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, was the chief guest and NSS OU Prof. B Reddy Naik, Coordinated the program, Prof Venkat Rajaiah, Professor from College of Technology, Osmania University enlighted the participants about ‘yoga’ and its importance in the present day life with a good demonstration. He even made the students do yoga.

In this program our college St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College 14 of our NSS volunteer students along with NSS Program Officer Mr. K. Sridhar Reddy took part.

Sports Report 2014-15

A Report on Sports & Games Conducted during the Academic Year 2014-15

The academic year 2014-15 was a year of achievements at the St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College in terms of academic, cultural and sports activities. Various laurels were brought home by our students in sports events conducted at the university, state and national level. Students were prepared and identified for these events during the inter-class and inter-collegiate competitions.

The Osmania University Inter College Chess Championship for Women for the year 2014-15 is being organized by St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College, King Koti, from 2nd & 3rd September, 2014. In this Tournament 24 colleges participated, The Tournament Inaugurated Chief Guest: Syed Mohammed Arif, is an Indian badminton coach. He is a recipient of Dronacharya Award and Padma Shri Award by the Government of India. Prize Distribution Chief Guest: Prof. Satyanarayana, Director, Osmania University.

At the beginning of the academic year various inter-class and inter-collegiate competitions are organized. The indoor games are conducted in the college and for outdoor games playgrounds like Osmania University Campus grounds and Nizam College Grounds are hired.

The winners are given special training to represent the college at various competitions. The different events organized are Basketball, Table-Tennis, Cricket, Volleyball and Chess etc,. The winners of the events are awarded during the annual Day Celebrations. The students who have represented the college at various competitions are given special prizes and cash awards.

Satyanarayana distributed the prizes to the winners.

EENADU CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2013-14

Joseph's College entered into quarter final level in Eenadu Cricket Tournament 2013-14 held on 22nd January 2014. There are 14 students who are in the selected list.

 

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT (WOMEN)

St. Joseph's Degree and PG College played host to Osmania Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament for women on 17th  and 18th  September, 2012 at its premises. It was a huge success with 24 colleges participating.

Osmania University Inter Collegiate Table-Tennis Tournament (Men) - St. Joseph’s team placed fourth in this Tournament, held at CBIT on15th & 16th September, 2012.

The college played host to Osmania University Table Tennis Tournament for Men on 2nd & 3rd Sept. 2011 in the college premises. It was a huge success as 34 colleges participated in the event. St. Joseph's College won the fourth place and Mr. Navin Fernandaz of B.Com I A of this college was adjudged the Best player of the tournament.

Chief Guest for the valedictory programme was Prof. Sudhakar - Secretary - Table Tennis Association. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary-Inter College Tournament Committee, Osmania University.

He also participated in “A” Division – Two day League conducted by Hyderabad Cricket Association. He was Under 22 probable for Hyderabad State and he is the Captain College Cricket Team last two years.

    Eenadu Cricket Tournament:- Our college team entered quater finals out of 120 teams that participated in Hyderabad & Ranga Reddy region Eenadu Cricket Tournament.

    Mr. Abhishek (captain) and the other members of the cricket team (PG & Degree) represented St. Joseph’s College for Eenadu Inter College Cricket competition and entered pre-quarters by winning over Aurora College and Chilkooru Institute of Technology. He also participated in “A” Division – Two day League conducted by Hyderabad Cricket Association. He was Under 22 probable for Hyderabad State and also for Moin-UD-Dowla.
