Josephiesta is held every year. The fest of St. Joseph's Degree & PG College is a felicitous mix of fun and entertainment and it showcases the students' managerial skills too". The great success of the programme is due to our student volunteers' tireless efforts. It is truly a variety fair. The audience got their money's worth as there is no dull moment, with the stage providing non-stop entertainment., which surely touches a crescendo when the youth of the twin cities rocks to the DJ's sensational music. The valedictory function boosts the creativity of the students. The events concludes with the prize distribution.
A Fresher's Party is organized every year by the II year students for the I year in Main & Extended Campus to help students to interact with each other. The fresher’s at St. Joseph's Degree & PG College celebrates the Fresher’s Day with all enthusiasm and fervor every year. The seniors welcome the fresher’s who exhibit their extracurricular talents in multiple colors in the day long fashion show and dance performances. They also have a ‘Ramp Walk’ and Mr. & Ms. Fresher are selected. The festivity is so feverish that the students walk the ramp along with the judges of the event.
The Department of Mass Communication & Journalism in St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College organizes a national level film festival “CinEvolution”. CinEvolution is a much awaited event for all the aspirants of Media serves as a platform to showcase their creativity and innovation in film making, reflecting the social issues to create the awareness towards social change and transformation.
CinEvolution 2015 received 19 entries from across nation in three different categories (short films, documentaries and entertainment movies). All the entries were screened for the Jury members on January 30, 2015 and the prize winning movies were screened on CinEvolution Day. In all the categories First, Second and Third prizes were given Cash award, Certificates and Mementos. Certificates and mementos were given for Special Jury Award, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress as well. Principal Rev. Fr. Vincent Arokiadas appreciated all the winners and participant while distributing the awards. CinEvolution 2015 turned a huge success with the major sponsorship of Andhra Bank and NTPC along with Kukreja (Group of Hotels) & Oriflame along with the ardent support of students of twin cities, academicians and practitioners of Mass Communication and Journalism.
Independence Day Celebrations
Vibrant display of patriotism marked the 69th Independence Day celebrations at St. Josephs college. While the NSS guard of honour lent pomp and glory to the ceremony, the patriotic songs and dances, followed by a thought provoking one act play and zealous speeches made by the students in Telugu ,Hindi and English stirred the patriotic feeling of the gathering. Major Siddharth, the chief guest for the day, hoisted the National Flag and delivered an inspirational speech wherein he entreated the students to be responsible citizens as he said that we are born of two mothers, i.e. biological mother and mother land and we need to take care and protect her just the way we take care of our biological mother. The Department of English organised several competitions as a forerunner to August 15th celebration on the campus by conducting National Integration week which included essay writing, debate and elocution on topics related to the nation. The highlight of the competitions was the poster -making competition on the topic "India through our eyes", wherein all the classes echoed the spirit of National integration as they displayed a team spirit ,with each class enthusiastically participating .Making a poster, they paid a creative tribute to the mother land. The faculty and students along with the chief guest visited the portrait gallery as the celebrations came to a grand end.
Teachers Day Celebrations at St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College on 5 Sept, every year is a grand event, with the Chairman, Most Rev. Thumma Bala, gracing the occasion to bless and congratulate the teaching and the non-teaching staff and their families for their dedication and extraordinary contribution towards the successful completion of the NAAC Re-Accreditation process. Bishop’s blessing of the St. Joseph’s statue, which is going to adorn the college building, marked the holy beginning of the program. As the vibrant young Principal Rev Fr. Vincent Arokiadas welcomed and cheerfully mingled with the staff and their families, the beautifully lit campus came alive with a high tide of excitement when the elders and children; teaching and non-teaching staff participated in a wide array of games arranged for them over a sumptuous dinner. The staff was acknowledged with Mementos and Certificates of Appreciation, making the event most memorable for all the members of Joseph’s family.

St Josephs Degree & PG College celebrates its Annual Day every year Academic and a Non-Academic prize from various departments is distributed. The Best Outgoing Students are recognized. Students who participate in other extension activities like JSS,JGG, Red Cross, NSS, Women Empowerment Cell, SQAC is also recognized and appreciated for their contribution.
It was a memorable day for the prize winners as the audience participates enthusiastically and applauds the winners.
Farewell program is organized for the final year students by various departments in the month of March every year.
The final year students are given a Heart-warming farewell by their juniors. Cultural programs & Ramp Walk are the main events along with participation from the staff who bid farewell to their outgoing students.
A Prayer service is held for the final year students. It is a memorable day for them as they would embark on a new journey and a new path towards life.
“Alumni Association Meet –is held every year for the Degree & PG Courses. There are alumni members who meet and share their views to the students and staff. The program starts with prayer, followed by prayer song.
The alumni members appreciation of their immense support in framing syllabus, technical inputs for students and staff, providing placement opportunities to the students, active participation and valuable suggestions during BoS meetings, admissions into various courses, suggestions on improving quality education and help given for preparing industry-ready curriculum design. Thanks for their continous support and service towards the growth of this institution.
The festive bells at St. Joseph’s chimed through the entire advent season from 19 to 23 December by celebrating ‘The Joy of Giving’ week. The Josephites upheld the true spirit of Christmas as they reached out to the needy and the poor with blankets and clothes, apart from organizing flash mobs on the campus to raise funds from the students to a tune of 35000rs to help the ailing family member of an attender named Joseph. On Dec 23, the eve of Christmas, the Carnival cheer reverberated in every heart and every nook and corner of the campus as the choir visited every classroom taking everyone by a joyous surprise singing, dancing and greeting everyone" Merry Christmas and Happy New year!".
The carnival indeed set out a vibrant note, with delightful food, stunning dance performances and of course the customary carols and greetings. The charity sale of the Christmas cake baked and sold by the street children brought in added festivity to Christmas cake cutting. The grand finale saw the management bring smiles to the teaching and non teaching faculty by giving Christmas gifts to all!
